Although the USAF and the USN will discuss commonality where they can, there will not be another joint program. There will be two separate programs which may share certain components but the final sixth generation fighters will be as different as the F-15 and F-18. It is also highly unlikely that the US will entertain foreign participation in the program. The US has had a bellyful of that. But in the long run people will want more value so it'd end up having to be bomb carrying capable. There is an argument that you could just do that externally once the threat from SAM systems has subsided somewhate and leave the riskier penetrations to F-35, but it wouldn't look great spending all that cash on something of a one trick pony.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18182426936194426623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1835455773953043846.post-91829480451366163922017-07-25T11:32:48.418+01:002017-07-25T11:32:48.418+01:00Am I misunderstanding? Therefore it could be small (one EJ200) and only carry A2A missiles (a Stealth , one engine EE lightning. This would be a good niche product for QRA.
